Advanced Analytics for Manufacturing and IIoT Data

Eyes on market... TrendMiner today acquired by Proemion of Fulda, Germany for €47m (per @realdeals.eu.com). Trendminer was put up for sale in December by Software AG's new owners (Silver Lake); it was acquired by Software AG in June 2018 for about €30M (with €5M in considerations). Proemion is new to me: founded in 1987, rec'd a €33.5 M investment from Battery Ventures in October, 2022, they have "existing analytics capabilities for critical industrial equipment, which help equipment manufacturers and operators gather machine data remotely and continuously to maximize uptime and performance." So it sounds a bit like the same idea as Software AG had in acquiring Trendminer and an IoT platform (Cumulocity IoT) in 2018. Battery Ventures and Proemion, Insight Partners recapitalizing manufacturing software aggregator Advantive in September, 2023. Hmmm. Link: https://lnkd.in/gHcSJKvP

UX Design for industrial data is a radically underserved space. We've been working on this for years, but so few resources to leverage. The good news: it makes what we do unique. The bad: it makes what we do unique. We solve this by looking outward. Well beyond the industries we serve, competitors, and customer feedback (faster horses problem). We look to patterns that exist in human nature and consumer applications, because we strive to eliminate the need for training, to productize heavily, and to enable scale. It seems so many other companies in our space fail to do this well (not 100% sure how well we do it, but at least we do it). Curious...
